Projected Ownership and Points
💡 What Is Projected Ownership — And Why It Matters
Projected ownership shows how many DFS players are expected to roster each golfer in their lineups. Think of it as the "popularity contest" of the week.
High-owned = chalky (safe, but you’re not alone)
Low-owned = contrarian (risky, but you gain leverage if they hit)
In large GPPs, going full chalk rarely wins — it’s the smart pivots and under-the-radar plays that separate the pros from the pack.
🧠How to Use Ownership in Your Lineup Strategy
Here are some rules of thumb used by sharp DFS players:
✅ Play 3+ golfers under 15%
✅ Include 2 under 10%
✅ Sneak in 1 sub-5% dart throw
🚫 Avoid lineups with 6 players over 20% owned
🎯 Try to keep total ownership under 85%
Use these guidelines to build lineups that balance safety and upside — and avoid duplicating the same lineup as half the field. Need some sleeper ideas? Our blog breaks down this week’s best low-owned GPP plays
